Two year olds whine a lot.

Feb. 3rd, 2007 | 04:46 pm

It's quite a shift, going from the Mommy-who-comes-every-time-you-cry-because-she-wants-you-to-stop to the Mommy-who-knows-you-want-something-when-you-cry-so-she-shouldn't-give-in-you-manipulative-little-I-love-you.

There's going to be quite a lot of snot for me to wipe off of her face this afternoon.

Why? And Boo-RAH!

Jan. 21st, 2007 | 08:27 pm

Why is it that 99.78% of all toddler bedding sets are either pink, a licensed character, or clearly for a boy? The other .22% are of course by Wendy Freakinexpensivo and are just lovely but are a bit out of my price range. I don't mind some licensed characters, but really, how many Disney Princesses need their own toddler bedding sets?

Oh, yeah, GO BEARS!!!

Bed!

Jan. 20th, 2007 | 02:03 pm

Anna has a new toddler bed! And you know what? She loves it! We haven't had a lick of trouble with her climbing out of it when she should be sleeping.

I was so worried about it!

One degree of tiredness.

Jan. 19th, 2007 | 08:00 am

Last night I was so tired that even though I knew the computer was on, I walked right up to it and hit the power button.

I worked a 15 hour work day.

Anna has a new game

Jan. 16th, 2007 | 03:44 pm

The bulk of our day off together yesterday was spend pretending to sleep on the stairs. She would turn off the light and say bye-bye. I think she was trying to put me to bed!

What a week

Jan. 12th, 2007 | 08:16 pm

Upgraded my computer starting Friday night, a week ago. Then Windows wouldn't boot. So a-reformattin' I did go. Scott added some of my old RAM to his computer, his computer wouldn't boot. So a-huntin' for a Socket A motherboard we had to go. Found and replaced.

And Anna was such a bear tonight. She's been having trouble sleeping all week. Not fun at all.

There and back again

Jan. 7th, 2007 | 10:07 pm

Went to Chicago and came back. There, you satisfied?

Ok, we also saw friends. )

Anna had fun with her cousins. )

Her new favorite toy -- The Little PeopleTM house. )

On the way home, I was driving and Scott was entertaining an increasingly grumpy Anna. He was drawing pictures for her to identify, and he decided to draw a duck. I looked over at what he drew and started to laugh -- he had given the duck 4 legs!

So that was what I did on my week-long holiday.

But the good news is that we got a great deal on this washer as a replacement. We're talking almost half price.

It's coming on Saturday, and I can't wait to do my first load. I just have to pick up the EXPENSIVE High Efficiency detergent first.

I'm tired of driving around everywhere for my job. I made my bi-weekly trip to Lincoln today, and I was just so disinterested in driving. Normally, I'm pretty ok with the long trip by myself. Today, not.

Giddy, as in *SQUEEEEE*

Dec. 4th, 2006 | 06:05 pm

I love love love The Loopy Ewe. I ordered replacement needles (and some extra stuff too, just so I could get free shipping) on Friday night, and it's here today! Even with St. Louis devastated by the snow storm!

Sheri even hand-wrote a note on my invoice. Probably by candlelight. :)

KRONCHE

Dec. 1st, 2006 | 07:51 am

As Meg would say, when an animal takes a large bite out of something. Say, my size 1 birch DPNs.

RIP, one needle in a set of 5.

I might be able to use a toothpick as a replacement until I can get out and buy another set. You know, when there isn't 9" of snow on the ground.

Oh good lord

Who the hell thought it would be a good idea to allow customers to purchase items online for in-store pickup on Black Friday? That takes a special level of stupid.

In happier news, I have a Finished Object! It's the top down bonnet from Hello Yarn. Very cute and easy, and it taught me how to do the figure eight cast-on. I made it for my boss's brand new baby girl, before I knew she was a she.

If I could ever figure out how Flickr's blog tool works I could just use that.

You might notice that I haven't finished the little cardigan yet. I needed something fairly mindless and much less fiddly, so I took a break. It'll come back soon, I promise.

If you have a small child

Nov. 15th, 2006 | 04:10 pm
mood: dorky dorky

You need one of these. We saw them in our local grocery store this weekend, and Anna could hardly put them down. Being internet-using parents, we decided to see if we could find them online cheaper than the $19.99 that the grocery store was selling them for.

Nope. Doing a google search for Alphapillar pops up a whole lot of Cross-Stitch links, and the ones for this Alphapillar all had it at the same price. So back to the grocery store. I was planning on getting a couple of them, to give one away to another small child. They only had 1 left. Mine. Mine mine mine all mine. Hopefully they'll get more in soon and I'll get that second one.

It's much nicer than it looks in the picture, and it really is LONG!

Ok, so I finished the back.

The yarn is Paton's Grace, color Viola. Apparently, it is very tasty to kitties.

Today I dealt with people who would have made the BOFH proud.

Anyone want to come by and install my new garbage disposer? I'm feeling way too lazy to do it myself.
